Brian W. Ackman
Just like his father and grandfather, Mr. Ackman began his oil and gas experiences in the field, working as a roustabout and later a ruffneck on drilling rigs in south western Nebraska during his high school and college summer breaks. Mr. Ackman received his BS from the University of Oklahoma and MS from Colorado School of Mines. He has been exploring for and developing oil and gas reserves for more than 30 years. He started his career with Conoco in Corpus Christi Texas, working the Texas Gulf Coast. Following Conoco he worked in the New Ventures group for Union Texas Petroleum (Houston, TX) working exploration plays covering the entire western hemisphere. Working the North Slope of Alaska to the Southern tip of Chile, from the overthrust play of the Huamampampa in Bolivia to the deep waters of the Brazilian Campos Basin. Following UTP he worked for Edge Petroleum working the Texas Gulf Coast, until 2003 when three Edge geoscientist formed MAP Exploration working East Texas and Lousianna. In 2007, he received a call from his father requesting his help in running Advantage Resources Inc. into the future. He returned to Denver in 2008 and filled the COO slot within Advantage Resources. In 2015, he purchased his father and brother's shares in the company and is the sole owner of Advantage Resources. He professional passion is for the industry that he has spent his whole life in, all aspects of it. He has spent most of his career as a Geophysicist, using seismic and well log data to find potential fields, the thrill is in the hunt.
Lewis C. Bortz
Mr. Bortz received his master's degree in geology from the University of Nevada and spent over 25 years as a senior exploration geologist with Amaco. During this time, Mr. Bortz contributed to the discovery of numerous large oil fields. He specializes in the detailed correlation of geologic and geochemical data to map the subsurface in search of oil accumulations through a play area. Mr. Bortz has been a leader in the geoscience community through numerous years of service within the professional organizations of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists (RMAG). Through these years of service within Amaco and the entire petroleum geologic community Mr. Bortz has cultivated many relationships which have proven to be vital to our success. Mr. Bortz works as the lead explorationist for Advantage, developing new lead areas and prospects within our focus areas. Once he has identified those targets he puts together the action plans for the exploration and development phases for the company. Since 1986, Mr. Bortz has been and continues to be a major factor to our success.
